Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 9/2018
Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 9/2018. From an American Oak Sherry cask, this Exceptional Single Cask from The Macallan is 2018, cask 9 ( #3890). This is vintage 1988, aged for 30 years, and finally bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.7% abv. As compared to the regular 30-year-old, this single cask represents one of the best single casks Macallan has to offer. Only 130 such bottles exist for this making it truly a rare unicorn in the ESC range.
Distilled on 9th November 1950, bottled on 19th October 2018, cask number 13, bottle number one of 336, American Oak 1st Fill Sherry Butt, 2018 release, ullage: bottom neck, distillery leaflet included.
A small parcel of all-natural Macallan with impeccable provenance has come our way at a remarkable price that subscribers and collectors should take advantage of. Sourced from a single European oak Sherry puncheon, ‘Exceptional Cask 01’ has already demonstrated significant upside since its release in 2018. Readers should note that at the time of writing, auction prices have the same bottling positioned between 2.5K to 3.8K. Meanwhile, an equivalent age statement from the 2017 Exceptional Cask collection recently sold at a major UK retailer for nearly 5k
